1. Information We Collect

When you use Wire Me, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: Email address, display name, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
  • Usage data: Which articles you read, favorite, bookmark, archive, and any notes you add. This data is stored per-user to personalize your experience.
  • Industry & topic preferences: The industry and topics you select during onboarding, used to curate your feed and email digest.
  • Email preferences: Whether you have opted in to the daily digest, your preferred delivery time, and your account email address used for sending.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To curate and personalize the Wire Me news feed based on your industry and topic selections.
  • To send you a daily email digest if you opt in.
  • To track reading state, favorites, bookmarks, and notes across your sessions.
  • To improve the service and troubleshoot issues.

3. Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase (cloud-hosted, encrypted at rest).
  • Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard bcrypt hashing.
  • The application is hosted on Render and served over HTTPS.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data may be processed by our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Render, Resend) solely to operate the service.

5. Cookies & Sessions

Wire Me uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics services, or advertising pixels.

6. Your Rights

  • You can view and update your information on the Settings page at any time.
  • You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete account.
  • You can opt out of email digests at any time in Settings.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the application or email. Continued use of Wire Me after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
